Commissioned Works and Home Portraits
Living near the St. Clair River on Harsen’s Island, Michigan, I have been commissioned to create many paintings for clients. Because of the island's location on the Great Lakes, I have painted portraits of people's homes, lake freighters, landmarks, and personal boats on the nautical chart of Lake St. Clair. I have also created paintings on other available nautical charts in the United States. In addition to painting on NOAC nautical charts, I have been commissioned to create watercolors on fine-quality watercolor paper. I design and create a painting by using personal photographs of the subject. The results have been beautiful portraits that preserve lasting memories of special places and good times.
Lake Hartwell Chart Paintings
We now live in the Upstate of South Carolina, and Lake Hartwell is a large lake that dominates the area. Many beautiful homes surround the lake, and I have begun painting homes on a chart of Lake Hartwell. The background of Lake Hartwell showcases the gorgeous homes. The campus of Clemson University rests on the waters of Lake Hartwell. Tillman Hall is a famous landmark on the campus, and I painted this on the chart.
Nautical Chart Paintings
While living on Harsen's Island, I used the nautical chart of Lake St. Clair to showcase the many homes surrounding the lake. These are just a few examples of the numerous nautical chart paintings I created in my studio on the Island. I also have examples of chart paintings featuring areas other than Lake St. Clair. If a nautical chart is available for any location in the United States, I can create artwork based on that chart. Using a nautical chart as a background adds to the uniqueness of the area where my clients lived and played.
